NEWFIELD, NY written by J.B. April 2, 2021: I just wanted to share with you and thank you for creating a suet feeder that indeed did draw in a Pileated after 35 yrs of using different suet feeders. It's such a joy to see them come in regularly and get such a good look at them.  I didn't realize before that males had a red streak on their cheek.

CAMBRIDGE, OH written by L.H. February 23, 2021: We are enjoying our Lifelong feeder! Quite a show this winter. We were surprised to see a Mockingbird that started coming just a few days ago. The wrens really love the peanut suet. Sorry for the poor quality of the picture. The little platform I put on the bottom allows the wrens and now the mockingbird easier access.

HOPKINTON, MA written by C.T. February 16, 2021: I just ordered 2 more of your feeders and I forgot to include a note with my order saying how much I enjoy your product. I guess I should really say how much the woodpeckers enjoy it. I have so many coming now I had to order more. Thanks again for making such a wonderful product.

COLUMBUS, OH written by L.G., December 28, 2020: I want you to know how much my birds are enjoying the Lifelong Feeder I purchased. It took awhile for them to find it but it was worth the wait. I used to have to go out daily to put a little suet out for the day because the squirrels were taking over. This feeder is wonderful! I can put an entire block out at once. The squirrels have given up. Your design is excellent. Thanks so much for solving my problems.

TORONTO, Ontario Canada, written by D.L., December 16, 2020: After 5 years, the feeder is going strong and with no quality or design issue. We have a line up of birds squabbling to gain access to the feeder, so I'd like to order another.

EAST AURORA, NY written by P.S., November 18, 2020: Thank you for creating such a wonderful product! Always in use and being enjoyed by woodland birds. Truly is "lifelong!"

BOYERSTOWN, PA written by S.H., July 29, 2020: Just ordered our second lifelong feeder.  Very satisfied customer.  It is hard to come by a product that is actually made in the USA that is sturdy and delivers what it promises.  No more issues with suet cakes being stolen by racoons and the squirrels have given up as well.  We have a wide variety of woodpeckers and other birds using the feeder.  It took a little while for the birds to catch on but now we have decided to get a second feeder because the one we have is getting overcrowded. Thank you for your ingenuity in creating a fantastic feeder.

BELTON, TX, written by J.C., July 13, 2020: Thank you for making these things. A great addition to my squirrel proof arsenal. I still feed squirrels but I like to be in charge of the quantity. Best of both worlds and your gadget makes it all possible. So a sincere thank you, kind folks. This is my second one and plan on getting at least 2 more!

RUCKERSVILLE, VA written by S.B., June 15, 2020: I wanted to let you know how much I LOVE your suet feeder. The suet cakes are lasting so much longer and definitely the squirrels are only getting the crumbs underneath if the birds haven’t gotten them already. VERY satisfying!

SAN ANTONIO, TX written by D.H. November 22, 2019:  Racoons destroyed!! a cedar and wire mesh suet feeder and then extracted all the suet from an old style wire cage feeder all in one night.  I use hot pepper suet to keep squirrels at bay but with racoons its a spicy fiesta; let's party.  Just received and quickly assembled the Lifelong Feeder and tail prop assembly.  Impressive heavy weight materials, e.g. heavy aluminum mesh feeder grids, stainless steel-nylon nuts, so no need for loctite.  A short inspection will reveal that the quality design, workmanship, and materials justifie the price.  I am sure the feeder will survive if knocked out of the tree and onto the patio.  I do suggest a name change: Lifelong-Lifelong Feeders.

SHEBOYGAN, WI written by K.J. September 23, 2019: I’m still very much enjoying the feeder.  I thought I’d send you an update since I didn’t see this mentioned in any of the reviews.  I’m using your feeder to feed suet nuggets and having great success.  I was having a little bit of trouble pushing the suet cake down to keep it close to the grids as it got smaller, and this really didn’t work with two suet cakes.  Seemed a shame to waste all the feeder capacity using only cake. So, I tried suet nuggets and it works GREAT.  Nuthatches and Woodpeckers love it, as do chickadees.  I can fill it all the way to the top, so the woodpeckers can feed high and use the bottom of the feeder for a tail prop.  The best news is, I just give it a good shake every couple of days which resets the nuggets right against the feeding grids.  Squirrels are not a problem at all, and more great news is that the House Sparrows can’t get to the suet nuggets either!

FAIRFIELD, OH written by T.C. August 12, 2019: This is a really bad photo (sorry) but it was the best I could do at the time with a phone looking through my window.  It shows 2 Pileated wood peckers using the lifelong at the same time with a 3rd one waiting its turn (see tree to the right). All my woodies just love these feeders (I have 3 now).  If I get some better photos or video I’ll send them along.

DARLINGTON, MD, written by C.G., June 10, 2019: Link: We ordered your feeder to replace a Squirrel proof feeder that wasn’t up to snuf when dealing with Raccoons.  We tried a number of setups with the older feeder; including hanging it on a cable between two trees.  The Raccoons simply traversed the cable hanging upside down and raided the feeder.  Even after placing PVC pipes on either end they overcame that obstacle and still managed to clean out the feeder.  ENOUGH ALREADY!  We setup your feeder on the same cable using a slack line carabiner to attach it. Within a few hours, the woodpeckers overcame their trepidation and were hitting it.  Overnight the Raccoons managed to drop the feeder to the ground but were unable to get any suet from it.  I’ve since replaced my slackline carabiner with a locking one and have had no further instances with a dropped feeder in the morning. Thank you for creating and selling a very well-designed product!

FRANCESTOWN, NH, written by D.B., May 1, 2019: Just wanted to let you know that what you promised is what I got -- they're terrific, and thanks so much!!!

DESMOINES, IA, written by D.W-K., April 22, 2019: Dear Mr. Link, I thought you might enjoy this video (SEE D.W-K’S RACCOON VIDEO ON THE LIFELONG HOME PAGE!) of our first afternoon with our raccoon proof feeders. We have always had trouble with the critters at night, so we brought in our squirrel proof seed feeder and large cage suet feeders at dusk. That worked fine until this spring when an enterprising raccoon started stealing our suet at all hours of the day.  We went searching for a better solution and found your lifelong feeders. The birds are adjusting nicely, but poor raccoon is having a frustrating day. The feeder, of course, is no worse for the encounter! Thank you for such a superior product.

EAST AURORA, NY, written by P.S., February 18, 2019: I live in a condo in the woods and as soon as I hung out your feeder on the balcony and went to close the sliding door we were in business!  Nonstop birds visiting, what a great feeder you designed, thank you.

SHEYBOYGAN, WI, written by K.J., January 29, 2019: Feeder arrived in perfect shape.  It took the squirrels about an hour to find it, and about 10 minutes to give up!  Chickadees found it in a day, and nuthatches the next day.  No woodpeckers yet, but I find them to be pretty timid.  Hopefully I’ll have them try it out soon.  Great product!

COLUMBIA, MD, written by E.N., February 9, 2019: Loved the first one, so we are getting another. It took a week for the birds to find the feeder after removing a cage feeder and putting up your feeder. FAIRFIELD, OH, written by T.C., February 10, 2018:  After using this feeder for 7 months I absolutely love it!  This feeder replaced a typical suet cage that was routinely raided by starlings, grackles, squirrels and raccoons.  They were going through a suet cake almost every day, now with the Lifelong Feeder none of those raiders spend any time or effort trying to get to the suet.  All my woodies (Pileated, Red Bellied, Northern Flicker, Hairy, Downy) love it as do many other friendly visitors to my backyard.  Thanks so much for such an amazing product!

BEAR LAKE, MI, written by M.E., February 8, 2018:  I have found that attaching large, screw-in eye-hooks  well into a 4 x 4 post that is at least 24" into the ground discourages bears from taking the feeder off the post and having their way with it(see photo.  Top is bowed partially because bear tried to pull it down and also because I tightened screw too much.  Will only finger tighten in future).  By the way, thanks for designing a great piece of American-made equipment.  We always try to buy American when we can to support American workers.  See picture below.

CLARKSBURG, MD, written by M.L., February 7, 2018:  But the main reason I’m replying is to let you know just how much I love my feeder.  Prior to buying yours, I tried several others…all of which the squirrels were able to get to and steal the suet.  However, the one I bought from you is like Ft. Knox to the squirrels.  They have long ago given up and the birds enjoy it immensely.  It is extremely well-built with an excellent design and I’m confident it will outlast me.  Thanks for building the best suet feeder out there.  Sometimes, the things you buy sight unseen on the internet don’t quite live up to their promises.  Your feeder has exceeded my expectations.  My wife and I get so much joy from seeing the many birds….lots of woodpeckers, which we love, frequent our suet feeder.

OLD LYME, CT, written by D.A., February 7, 2018:  I really had to laugh as I had no sooner put up one of your feeders than a racoon climbed over our fence, grabbed the feeder, turned it this way and that and than gave up - and this was during the daytime! So there is no doubt that they work.  Also, no way a racoon can carry off the feeder. These feeders are 100% racoon and squirrel proof. We have a lot of squirrels and they try to get at the suet and quickly give up. Good product - well made and will never wear out!

WHITE HAVEN, PA, written by L.V., February 7, 2018:  I was just filling my feeder today for the woodpeckers and thinking what a great feeder this is, glad I got it. I have several birds that come to my feeder and wait their turn cause they won't feed together, I'm considering getting a second one!! Thanks for the great product!!

ASHLAND, MA, written by A.U., January 12, 2018:  Thank you - we're thrilled with our purchase.  Day one and I already have some pics of the happy birds and some videos of the frustrated squirrels - victory is ours!!  Great product!

BURLINGTON, MA, written by J. M., November 7, 2016:  Just a quick note.....I have been gardening and feeding birds for thirty years. I have purchased no less than fifty feeders (seed & suet) over the years. Not all, but many have touted their ability to keep squirrels at bay. I still have not found a traditional feeder that is truly effective. I can honestly say, your product is the exception. It does exactly what you say that it does. Although a bit expensive, I likely save ten dollars a month in suet costs.

GLENDALE, WI, written by A. R., October 17, 2016:  Hi -- I just wanted to tell you that I love your suet feeder.  It is the first and only suet feeder that has lasted and defied the squirrels and raccoons.  I’m getting several types of woodpeckers at my feeder on a regular basis.  It is worth every penny!  Thank you!

GAHANNA OH, written by M. M., August 11, 2016:  The first night 2 raccoons came and tried to defeat this feeder. No way! They left & told all their friends - haven't seen or heard a raccoon since! Very efficient regarding suet spillage, too. Thank you!!

GREENSBORO, NC, written by D. K., August 4, 2016:   I received my feeder early this week and was thrilled at the product and it's construction.  It was worth every penny.  It certainly is ballistic construction materials and you thought of everything --so easy and appears to be easily cleaned, and restocked with suet cakes or peanuts in the shell!   The squirrel bandits have already taken a crack at it over the first few days and quickly gave up.   My beloved woodpeckers gave it quite the inspection staying away for 3 days and ignoring as they fed at seed feeders.  I patiently waited and today observed these 2 cute ones feeding as mirror images of one another shortly followed by the Downeys.  I can tell this will be sturdy and my last suet feeder purchase -- and I would say I've tried and replaced at least 5 types that were short-lived, raided, carried off, destroyed and believe me I added wires, locks, fasteners and the like.  Lifelong nailed it with your ballistic design.  I'm just thrilled and so are our backyard feathered friends. Thanks so much.

HILLSBOROUGH, NC written by N.B., June 14, 2016:  Just got my suet feeder today (thanks for the fast shipping!) and I love it already. I hung it up in place of the feeder the squirrels have been raiding and took great pleasure in watching them unable to get anything out of it. The titmice have already figured it out and have been feasting. The bluebirds and woodpeckers are a little wary, but they'll come around.  I've attached a photo of a frustrated squirrel (just before he fell off the feeder - pretty sure he's giving me the stinkeye) and a happy titmouse!  Thanks again,

STURGEON BAY, WI written by J&B C., February 29, 2016:  Just wanted to let you know we have just ordered a second suet feeder.  The first one worked so amazingly well we just had to get another one.  The first one we are keeping closer to the house and watching our downy, red headed, red bellied, hairy woodpeckers and yellow bellied sapsuckers.  Just recently we have seen a very large pileated woodpecker.  We used to see these creatures very often in the Wisconsin north woods area, but not so much here in the Wisconsin Peninsula of Door County. The second suet feeder we will be putting out closer to the wood line at the back of our yard.  Your product was a great find.  Thanks,

FAIRFAX, VA written by B.N., September 1, 2015:  Been through the long war on suet feeders until now.  First came the squirrels that made short work of regular models, followed by caged variants to halt them, followed by the local raccoons who enjoyed tearing the cages apart.  About to concede defeat, I came across the Lifelong Feeder and thought I would give one last try to keep my woodpeckers coming around.  This product proved to be everything as advertised.  Within a few days the Downys and Red-bellied woodpeckers started to show up, and now are regulars.  Trail-cam footage showed many failed squirrel assaults on the feeder.  Nor have the raccoons been able to break the code.  As a result a single block of suet now lasts at least a week instead of a few hours.  The feeder itself is as easy to use as it is effective and is a great example of marrying simplicity with function.  Loading suet (or seeds) is quick and easy.  The few parts involved are all solid and well made to last.  Cleaning is a breeze.  The optional mounting hardware simplifies placement options as well.  The owner is a pleasure to work with and stands by his products.   I have just ordered a second Lifelong Feeder for another area.  A great product all around--and even the occasional Buck deer is curious of the design.

MYSTIC, CT written by S. M.,  Feb 21, 2015:   Bless you!  And all the resident woodpeckers and the lone little brown wren that has been here all winter bless you too!  The wren does just fine with the feeder even though I didn't add a platform or anything.  A lot of the other birds hereabouts tend to hang out at the roller feeder I have up for black oil sunflower seed, and the finches still seem to prefer the nyjer I put out for them in a more ordinary seed tube, but the woodpeckers and the wren would be lost without your  feeder -- and were, in fact, before it arrived, since I couldn't keep any of the other kinds of suet holders I tried replenished fast enough to keep the squirrels from making off with almost all the contents before the birds even had a chance at it.  I had despaired of ever finding a suet feeder that would keep the rascals from eating me out of house and home.  But yours honest-to-goodness really does!  And it's so easy to fill, easy to clean, blizzard-proof, and even looks like a good old-fashioned suet feeder! ;-)  Plus it's genuine made-in-the-U.S.A.  Thank you so much!

ELLSWORTH, ME written by E.  LOUISVILLE, KY written by D. K., April 17, 2014:     After having two homemade suet feeders destroyed by raccoons and squirrels, I decided to look around for something better and happened upon your product.  This feeder does all I had hoped for.  The squirrels have given up trying to get into it and there is no evidence of raccoon activity.  I put the feeder up a few weeks ago and the birds have rediscovered it.  I am using it with the tail prop and that seems to please the larger woodpeckers.  And, I have taken your advice to use the peanut (8% protein) suet.  It has become very popular with my feathered neighbors.  I had a wire feeder up that I covered in hardware cloth.  It worked for awhile but something heavy or strong got to it twice and the second time just carried it off wholesale to parts unknown.  You are one heck of an engineer sir!  This thing is so well thought out and so perfectly designed that it ought to be a military secret!  Thanks again for what I am sure will be a wonderful, lifetime product.

ROSWELL, GA  written by B. P., March 18, 2014     Link,  Mockingbirds, titmice and Downy woodpeckers on the feeder the second day after I put it up. Downies are now regular feeders on it. So far, so good. The best part is watching the squirrels check it out and then leave in frustration.

ROCKVILLE, MD  written by J. S., March 14, 2014      Link,  I can not be more pleased with my two Lifelong Feeders.  They have been fully accepted by the birds, and they have proven to be 100% effective against my two nemesis squirrel foes, BAD and UGLY.  I have learned exactly how much of the suet I put out was actually being eaten by BAD and UGLY, as opposed to the birds.  With the previous suet feeders I was putting two squares of suet out every 3-4 days.  With the Lifelong Feeders, I believe the two suet squares in each will last a few weeks - it's been two weeks so far and I'd say less than half of the original is gone.  I certainly did not purchase the feeders from you with the expectation that I'd save money, but I think they'll pay for themselves over the course of a year or so -- and I feel I'm doing right by the birds!

ABOVE PICTURE OF FLICKER FROM UNION KY written by C. D., February 15, 2014: I filled your feeder with one suet cake and hung it in a pear tree outside my window yesterday afternoon. By the time I finished my outdoor chores (filling feeders, birdbath, shoveling snow) and came inside an hour later, there was a Downy woodpecker eating from the feeder. A little later, there was a Northern flicker who clung to the feeder for 10 minutes eating suet. I hung your feeder in the same location as my upside-down suet feeder (which the starlings could cling to and eat) and removed it. Several Downy woodpeckers and the flicker have visited the feeder several times today. (We got 5 inches of snow beginning late yesterday and overnight.) The starlings are watching the Downys eat from the feeder, but they have not attempted to jump on. I'm loving this feeder already! I expect the raccoons to appear when the weather warms up and will let you know how that goes. They come out at night to create their havoc, so I won't know if they've made an appearance unless something is disturbed. They wrestled my sandwich suet feeder out of the tree by tearing out the eye hook and that was the final straw! Thanks so much! FROM C. D., February 21 with picture: The woodpeckers love this feeder! GREENBELT, MD  written by R. J., February 27, 2013:     No raccoon has tasted any of my suet from these feeders.  They work as advertised. I've noticed that woodpeckers prefer these open face suet feeders where as sparrows seem to prefer my double cage suet feeder. I bought the perch, but starlings monopolize the feeder standing on the perch keeping the woodpeckers waiting. I have my feeders next to a large wooded area with lots of raccoons.

ELKRIDGE, MD  written by B. R., January 25, 2013:     Having spent the same amount on those $4 green suet cages over the years as I did on this feeder it's comforting to know a few things; this works exceptionally well & I'll never, EVER, have to search the neighborhood looking for where the local squirrels have taken my previous suet feeders as this is too heavy for them to move :) thanks.

ENFIELD, CT  written by C. B., October 30, 2012:     Hi! Been using your suet feeder a couple of weeks now and absolutely LOVE it! The woodpeckers are here all the time. The squirrels have tried to feed from it a couple of times but can't get anything from it. And luckily the raccoons don't come to it at all. The woodpeckers can eat in peace and quiet. I tried many feeders before and none compared to yours. The suet feeder is so easy to fill and clean. Thank you!

LYME, CT  written by H. L,, September 23, 2012:     FANTASTIC INVENTION. The raccoons were climbing up the metal pole, removing the bird feeder and the suet feeder every night. I was at my wit's end! While I want all the wildlife to eat, I also wanted my birds to have food. I found this invention and it WORKS. All different kinds of woodpeckers and even NON-woodpeckers love it. Highest recommendation and Link is a treasure to those of us who want to feed the birds. Order one, and you will LOVE it!

AVON LAKE, OH  written by D. H., September 04, 2012:     I added the LIFELONG to my set up earlier this summer and have been delighted by the results! I have suet in there and Downys, Hairys, and Red Bellied woodpeckers have been all over it! Some Starlings descended like flies a few days ago, but without a perch to rest on, the big voracious slobs grew frustrated and quickly gave up. And speaking of frustrated, after weeks of expending energy (which included some hilarious acrobatics) just to reach the feeder and then nothing to show for it once they do, it is safe to say my resident squirrels are going to require years of therapy and perhaps even lithium before they are able to smile again!

CROWN POINT, IN  written by B. B., August 23, 2012:     I am so happy to have received my new feeder! By the fourth day, my feeder was Grand Central Station again! Due to squirrels, deer and (particularly) raccoons, I had all but given up on feeding my feathered friends. :(      Now, with my new feeder, I have many happy birds flittering about. I bought the feeder and perch and placed it beneath a little feeder umbrella the raccoons left me. I filled the feeder with one suet cake, and then topped it off with oil sunflower seeds. This morning I smiled as I watched a woodpecker and nuthatch on the feeder at the same time, one on each side. This is great. Thank you for your excellent product!

MOORESVILLE, IN  written by M. J., July 03, 2012:     Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! I had given up all hope of being able to leave my suet feeder out all night. Those pesky raccoons were eating all of my suet nightly and sometimes stealing the feeder so I had to bring it in every night for 2 years. While surfing the net I came across your feeder. Reviews were wonderful but did it really work? YES, YES, YES, IT WORKS! The first night the raccons wrapped the cord around the tree but feeder and suet still there. They havent been back since. All the other birds chicadees,titmouse,nuthatch,downey,hairy,red-bellied and most important the pileated love to eat from this feeder. Try it you'll love it.

WINSTON-SALEM, NC  written by E. S., December 06, 2011:     Link,    Lifelong feeder surpasses all (3) of the previous, so called squirrel proof feeders. Lifelong feeder was first used for suet; thereafter and has remained for black oil sunflower seeds. Squirrels do get some of the seeds, after filling, until seeds are well packed in feeder; racoons get none. Now the rest of the story; After hanging Lifelong feeder, I purchased a squirrel proof suet feeder to hang under the Lifelong, that cost half the cost of Lifelong. It proved to be squirrel proof, but racoons reach in and get all the suet. I now am ordering 2nd Lifelong feeder that truly works for suet, as a Christmas gift for the birds and myself. Yes, I'll say it; Spend a little more for Lifelong feeder that works and stop wasting money on other feeders that cost less and are much, much less effective!!!

QUINEBAUG, CT  written by WILLY, June 20, 2011:      Bought 1 and I'm now ordering my 2nd one....red bellied, hairies, downys, titmice, orioles, and other birds have been enjoying the feast of our homemade suet. FENTON, MI  written by J.H., February 01, 2011:     Well, it took a few weeks, but I'm finally seeing nuthatches and even a brown creeper on my feeder today. They must be filling up before the big storm blows in. The squirrels had been trying to get at the suet since the first day I put it out, but I think they have finally given up. I'm happy I'm no longer replacing the suet cake daily because of those pesky critters! So far it's working out well, living up to all of it's promises. Thanks for the fast shipping, too.

SIDNEY, ME  written by R.C., January 10, 2011:     The birds love this feeder! We're glad we bought the perch; a lot of the birds seem to prefer it, such as sparrows, blue jays, and cardinals. Thank you for making such a quality product.

KINGSPORT, TN  written by C.B., December 26, 2010:     As you recommend, I put some suet globs on the outer surface of the feeder after installing one suet cake and I hung it where I'd had a traditional suet feeder. (I was having to bring that one inside every night -- an unpleasant task in wet and freezing weather.) Within an hour of hanging your feeder I saw five birds eating from it, and I was only checking it occasionally. I'm looking forward leaving it out overnight and watching the frustrated raccoons, too. Thanks for an excellent product and for good communication when I had questions prior to purchasing.

BRANFORD, CT  written by C.H., November 30, 2010:     I recently purchased a Lifelong Feeder and you asked for some feedback on it. Well, first of all the raccoons have not gotten into it which is one of the main reasons I bought it. And it is still on the branch where I hung it! The squirrels seem to realize they can't get into it and just ignore it. I have lost multiple suet feeders before to the raccoons. I haven't had a huge amount of activity but the chickadees and titmice found it almost immediately. Have seen a downy or red belly woodpecker on it occasionally. Hoping to have more activity as the weather gets colder. Thanks.

UNIONTOWN, OH written by A.P., October 20, 2010:     I love the feeder as do the birds! The Chickadees, Titmice, and Nuthatches were the first to discover and enjoy it. It took a few weeks, but the woodpeckers have started to enjoy the feeder as well! It is so easy to clean and fill. I haven't had any problems with the many squirrels and raccoons in my area-Great Job!!!

MAZOMANIE, WI  written by M. B., August 01, 2010:     This feeder does the trick! No raccoons able to run off with it or break in yet, and they did try! All woodpeckers feed on it. Very happy! Thank you for out-smarting the raccoons.

STAFFORD, VA  written by C. T., July 20, 2010:     I just wanted to let you know that the Lifelong feeders arrived a while ago and have been put to good use. Some of the birds are still kind of leery about using them but they have definitely thwarted the raccoons, opossums, and squirrels. Thanks so much for making such a great product. I am sure that the feeders will last a lifetme. The quality is even better than I expected. The solid construction survived failed attempts by raccoons to either remove it or break it open. After the raccoons finally gave up I checked the feeder and it was no worse for the wear. I can say that these are the last feeders that I will ever have to buy. Well wortth the money! I really think you have a fantastic product that performs as promised -- something that is very rare today.

HARRISON, NY  written by G. R., June 24, 2010:     Hi! I am ecstatic with your Lifelong suet feeder. It REALLY is raccoon proof. After giving up on several feeders claiming to be raccoon proof, I tried yours and my battles with the raccoons are finally over. It's been over 6 months, the feeder is holding up really well and we have discovered another added benefit to it. During the summer months I used to get a whole flock of starlings and they would go through 2 peanut suet cakes in a matter of hours. I tried plain suet and that discouraged them but our woodpeckers and other birds (nuthatches, etc.) did not care for plain suet, either. With the LIfelong feeder the starlings cannot hold on to it and the only birds that get to eat the suet are the ones it was intended for. I am so happy! Thank you for coming up with such a clever solution.

DEXTER, MI  written by R.A., May 15, 2010:     Hi Link,   I think it would take a direct hit from a 20 ton bomb to damage your feeder. I love it as do the birds, especially woodpeckers.  I also purchased a roller feeder at the same time. The little ground squirrels loved it. Frequently I would find one of those guys up inside the feeder having a picnic. I've taken it down. I use a big, fat tube feeder that is too fat for them to get purchase on, so they started taking the top off and climbing inside to have their picnics. I drilled two holes through the side of the top piece and slipped two nails in to hold it in place. However, when it was hanging from the black hook where your feeder now hangs the larger squirrels could simply sit on the rail and reach over to get the seed.  I buy cracked & shelled corn in 50 Lb. bags (same with black oil sunflower seeds) to throw on the ground but often the deer and wild turkeys clean it out before dawn so I put more out at mid day for the ground feeders, including the squirrels. It's the raccoons that are really destructive. Except for your indestructible feeder they will knock a feeder to the ground and batter it to pieces. I trap and relocate raccoons. I've only trapped one this year but last summer I trapped 18 raccoons during the month of July.  Now to the second feeder I've ordered from you. I was looking at your feeder the other day and thought it might also work as a peanut feeder. I have had to stop using conventional peanut feeders because the squirrels would empty in a day and peanuts are expensive. If you are interested I will let you know how your feeder works with peanuts. Take care.   R.A.WROTE MAY 21: I hung my new Lifelong Feeder (my second) yesterday and filled it with peanuts. It was an instant hit. The woodpeckers especially love it but other birds are visiting it as well. I stopped feeding peanuts a couple of years ago because the squirrels would empty a conventional peanut feeder in a single day. Not this one though. Congratulations on inventing the world's best squirrel proof peanut bird feeder.

SARASOTA, FL  written by K.B., March 30, 2010:     After owning several squirrel proof bird feeders, I had problems with raccoons! I am thrilled with my Lifelong feeder and wish I had found it sooner. The only ones unhappy with the feeder are the squirrels and raccoons in my backyard. Communication with Link Llewellyn was great. He was extremely helpful.

FISHERS, IN  written by K. B. March 13, 2010:     IT WORKS!  After many problems with pesky squirrels and raccoons the Lifelong feeder works. Strongly built, easy to clean and fill.
